eDrive

The eDrive system is a unique tool designed for railway operators. Its primary goal is to support the improvement of energy efficiency for railway operators, as well as to enhance key indicators affecting the quality and efficiency of provided services. These include:

  • safety,
  • punctuality,
  • passenger comfort,
  • energy efficiency,
  • environmental impact.

The system architecture is based on data obtained from electricity meters installed on rolling stock, schedules, rolling stock records, and driver work logs. These data can be transmitted directly via network interfaces or sourced from files exported by IT systems.

Thanks to the use of cloud technologies, the system can continuously aggregate and combine all this data to create detailed representations of completed journeys. This allows for dozens of different analyses to be conducted, presenting data in various perspectives to best reveal relationships between them. The data is displayed on a specially designed web portal, requiring no additional software installation or maintenance. All functionalities are available upon login directly through a web browser.

eDrive is a modular solution that allows for custom selection of functionalities to meet specific needs and the creation of entirely new ones if necessary. Additionally, its computational engine can be tailored to the specifics of any type of transport, both passenger and freight, considering key differences between operators such as stop distances, route characteristics, rolling stock, or cargo type.

A supplementary component of the system, aimed at supporting drivers, is a dedicated mobile application called eDrive Driver. Its purpose is to provide a simple and clear view of the energy efficiency of each journey made by the driver, along with an evaluation and identification of areas for improvement. Moreover, it includes an active schedule module that, based on GPS data, shows the current progress of the timetable with additional information about the currently traversed section and tips for the driver. With its functionalities, the app facilitates the driver in achieving the primary eco-driving objectives of punctuality and passenger comfort, while also serving as a tool for enhancing economic driving techniques.

The application can also serve as a tool that links schedule performance data with specific rolling stock and the driver making the journey. This provides the ability to perform eco-driving analyses without the need for digitalized systems on the operator's side.
