The traction automation system is a family of protection devices designed for various fields of direct current (DC) switchgear and essential service switchgear. These protections offer configurable functions for operation in switchgear systems with voltage ranges from 660V to 3.3kV DC. The system is based on the SESTO E1000 series controllers and is intended for the protection of rectifier stations used in railway, tram, trolleybus, and metro traction.
voltage measurements: traction voltages (660V DC, 3300V DC),
current measurements: current of traction power supplies, rectifier sets, return cables (total substation current),
cable load imbalance measurement,
fast current and voltage transient recording,
average voltage and current recording,
event logging,
protection for traction power supplies and rectifier sets:
local/remote control,
self-diagnostics,
automatic testing of traction power supply lines and SPZ (Switchgear Protection Zone):
blocking of traction power supply turn-on,
automation for rectifier ret operation,
communication with external devices,
implementation of fast switch dependencies,
engineering channel.
Additionally, the GFP (Ground Fault Protection) is an essential element of the TEO system, ensuring safety against earth faults in the network.
